Celebrating creativity at the heart of the new School of Communication at Falmouth University with a campaign and notebook design.
Campaign & Book Design
Design Creative
As part of an integrated campaign celebrating the new School of Communication, at Falmouth University, we designed a set of notebooks to be handed out to new and prospective students as a gift welcoming them to the new faculty.
Framed, dotted, gridded and lined pages of notes were designed to represent each of the four disciplines within the School: Creative Advertising, Creative Writing, Graphic Design and Journalism.
The offer is to give new students a branded notebook for their first notes and ideas studying at Falmouth University. These pages were then interspersed with dynamic imagery representative of the student experience, both on and off campus, at Falmouth and around Cornwall.
Copy Style & Tone of Voice
We collaborated with copywriter Craig Barr-Green to define the style and tone of voice for the materials:
“Welcome to the School of Communication. Here, please have this journal. The notes you make on these pages could be the first steps towards your great idea. The big one. You could look back in years to come and find the seeds of your dissertations, your copious lecture notes or those bolts of sheer inspiration. Or it could end up full of shopping lists, incomprehensible scrawls and bizarre doodles. That’s fine too. Whatever works.”
