This is what we believe in. This is our declaration of intentions, motives and views.
1. Be Curious
We believe in seeking out ideas and opportunities; ask why and say why not. We believe in having an open mind and letting people in. Letting ideas in and letting them flow through. We believe in taking paths that are indirect; exploring and adventuring off the beaten track — discovering new routes and paths less travelled.
2. Have Patience
We believe in being patient with those around you, and with yourself. And in being patient with ideas to let them thrive by giving them time.
3. Accept Difference
Polarise opinion and know that the world rewards difference. Similarities bring people together, but difference is what keeps them together. We value creativity and the need for differentiation. We believe in the courage to be different and accept those that are different.
4. Ask Questions
A question can reveal intentions, a question can expose truth. We believe in knowing how to ask questions. Know what questions are important and know what questions are worth asking.
5. Listen
We believe in making sure to spend time listening. Listen to answers, listen to questions, listen to advice and reflect on it. We believe in taking time to listen and allowing ourselves to absorb information.
6. Be Understanding
To understand is to have the ability for abstract thought, to be sympathetic and have awareness and tolerance. If we can have understanding for other people and ideas we can have empathy for them.
7. Be Ambitious
We believe in having a clear “North Star”, in having a guiding principle and an understanding of where we want to go. We believe in having the drive to change things and the understanding that change can be for the better.
8. Practice
We believe in practising your craft and maintaining your practice. Learning never stops. Through the process of action, through practice, we can fully appreciate the value of one’s skills and develop.
9. Say it Simply
We believe in saying things simply. If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough. We believe in using clear communications to include people rather than exclude them.
10. Total Passion
We believe in total passion. This is most important. Only with passion can we be driven to… achieve, to be curious, to have patience, to accept difference, to ask questions, to listen, to be understanding, to be ambitious, to develop our practice and to say it simply. Have total passion.
