What The Land Remembers is an exhibition of ten contemporary women artists whose practices reflect the unyielding pull of the Cornish landscape. Dotted across Cornwall, working from studios nestled in bustling harbours or perched on the edges of rugged moorland, each lets Cornwall’s landscape move through their work, shaped by salt air, stone, myth, and memory.

Working with the Museum team we created interpretive elements of the exhibition that supported engagement with the works by artists – with a design that is clean and crisp.

The exhibition is heavily informed by the experiences of artists with the Cornish landscape. Colour is used in a way that echoes this landscape – and the works of art – in a subtle way to enhance the experience of visitors. Type is handled with a measure of control – it’s informative but does not dominate. The text is set in Signifier – designed by Klim – a contemporary reinterpretation of historical English Roman ‘Fell Types’, from the 17th-century. This aids a sensibility that if once formal but also clean, crisp and contemporary.
