Exhibition catalogue design for Nicola Bealing Death & Circuses at Kestle Barton, on the Lizard, in Cornwall
Produced on the occasion of the exhibition Nicola Bealing Death & Circuses, presented at Kestle Barton, on the Lizard, in Cornwall, the catalogue documents and illustrates Bealing’s fascination with and responses to the collections and archives held at Helston Museum.
Nicola Bealing is a Cornwall-based British artist who works in both painting and printmaking. Bealing’s work is unique for the highly imaginative nature of its subject matter and her interplay of psychological narratives.
“Nicola Bealing is a painter of exceptional skill, talent and vision... The freshness of her approach, applying her rigorous skill and insight, represents exactly the surprising type of collaboration that will keep the model of artists’ collaborations with museums from becoming conventional... The Helston Museum is a treasure. It is one of the most exciting and furtive collections open to the public that I have ever had the pleasure to visit.”
The catalogue and booklet are typeset in FF Bauer Grotesk and printed on Phoenix Motion and Colorplan respectively, from G.F Smith Papers. Photography by Steve Tanner.
